Putin asserts that a conflict in Ukraine was "inevitable."

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, declared on Wednesday that it "became evident" that conflict in Ukraine could not be avoided and that it was "better today than tomorrow" that it had taken place.

Conflicts with these forces, notably in Ukraine, "became clear that they would inevitably occur. The only uncertainty was a matter of timing, he remarked during a board meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Of course, tragedies and fatalities are always a part of military operations. We are aware of this and fully comprehend it. However, better today than tomorrow since it was unavoidable, he said.

He affirmed that Russia's objectives in Ukraine would be accomplished.

He added that when it comes to funding its military, Moscow has "no restrictions."

Everything the army requires will be provided by the government, he assured.

Putin claims that Russia is still working on hypersonic missile weapons.

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, stated that his nation is continuing to develop hypersonic missile systems after using them in Ukraine, the first known use of such weapons in conflict.

According to Putin, the missiles "have no analogues in the world and are unique in their qualities."

In a discussion about the country's military goals for the upcoming year, Putin said that a new frigate, the Admiral Gorshkov, "will commence combat service" in January 2023.

According to him, the frigate will be able to launch "the most recent Zircon sea-based hypersonic missile systems," and Zircon missile deliveries have already started.

Some background: All missiles are essentially hypersonic, which means they go at least five times faster than sound. Any warhead launched from a rocket miles into the atmosphere will go to its target at this speed very instantly. When asked by CBS in March about the effectiveness of the missiles, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said he "would not regard it as a game-changer."
